This is a rare November 8th, 1976 “Stage” playbill from the one-week, Post-Broadway engagement of the WILLIAM LUCE play “THE BELLE OF AMHERST” at the Fisher Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. (The production opened April 28th, 1976 at the Longacre Theatre in New York City and ran for 116 performances before going on the road.) ….. Based on the life of EMILY DICKINSON, the one-character play starred JULIE HARRIS (shown in the cover photo) ….. Note: JULIE HARRIS was honored with her fourth Tony Award for “Best Actress in a Play” for this role …..
